SERIES: PEACE ~ FLEXIBILITY ~ STRENGTH

RECORDED SERIES: Previously the recorded series for the term has been delivered under the banner ‘Yoga Bites’

From Term 3, 2023 it has looked quite different.

First feature: ALL links to the recorded sessions will be delivered prior the start of Term via one email. Therefore, these recordings will be available for the full term.

Second feature: there will be a total of 10-12 recordings of various lengths from 60 minutes to 20 minutes. Each session will have a name and a description so you can choose what appeals to you most on the day. Each session can be watched as many times as you like over the whole TERM.

Third feature: because you have access to the recordings for the whole term you will be repeating some sessions - or all - possibly several times. With repetition comes the opportunity to dive a little deeper each time. As you become more familiar with a session the less you have to engage your ‘thinking brain’ and the more you can ‘feel’ into the poses and movement.

MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION

Introduction to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction: 8-week program

An introduction to MBSR concepts will be offered in this 8-week program.

Sessions will run for 30-minutes commencing Tuesday 7th February

**THIS PROGRAM IS BEING OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE**

At its core, MBSR is based on systematic and intensive training in mindfulness meditation and ever-present awareness is the foundation for the development of positive health behaviours, psychological and mindful hatha yoga.

Embedded within the context of Mind-Body and Participatory Medicine, the MBSR curriculum focuses on the experiential cultivation of both “formal” and “informal” mindfulness practice as a means of familiarizing oneself with awareness itself (mindfulness). The recognition of an innate, emotional resilience, and an overarching sense of wellbeing that can be effectively cultivated and relied upon across the adult life span. Content will include a mindfulness meditation, gentle exploration, and discussion using current research

Research shows participant commitment to attending each session improves experiential learning and ever-present awareness

This course will be offered free of charge both online and in class to students enrolled in Term one Mud Hut yoga classes

MBSR Level One trained teacher- Marie Wycisk will be running these sessions with the potential of a future opportunity to run the full program of 2.5-hour weekly sessions across 9 weeks at full cost

Sadly many people have not returned to a regular yoga practice since the COVID pandemic changed all our lives. Regular yoga enhances our lives in SO MANY ways. But it can be hard to get started again when you’ve had a long break.

SO:

This series is designed to encourage you gently back to the studio…or back to your yoga mat at home. A short 30 minute session of gentle movement, pranayama (breath work) and quiet relaxation and meditation. This session will be pre-recorded and the link to the recording will be provided via email by 7.00am every Monday for 7 weeks. The recording will be available until the next Monday @ 7.00am. You can access the recording as many times as you like :)

YOGA BITES

Yoga bites is designed for people who would like to practice yoga regularly but in smaller ‘bites’ than a regular class. These sessions are all delivered VIRTUALLY .

3 Sessions are delivered each week for the 9 week term ( less 1 session on Anzac Day ).

That’s 26 sessions!

MONDAY & WEDNESDAY: you can join the LIVE 20 minute Zoom class at 7.00 am & / OR practice with the recorded session at a time that suits you better. These sessions will be available for viewing from the day they are recorded till the next Monday morning at 7.00 am. You can replay as often as you like.

From time to time the Monday &/or Wednesday sessions may not stream LIVE and may be distributed as just a recorded sessions. If this occurs you will receive notification.

THURSDAY: a 30 minute session will be recorded for you to practice at a time that suits you. This session is also being offered LIVE either ONLINE or IN STUDIO as part of YOGA TASTER series. The session will be held at 3.45pm. Feel free to join in :)

ALL SESSIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THE WHOLE WEEK (from when they are recorded until the following Monday morning) - YOU CAN ACCESS THEM AS MANY TIMES AS YOU LIKE EACH WEEK

KICK-START YOGA.

28 days. 28 practices.

7.00 am live* or at the time that suits you via the recorded session. This will be a short (20 minute) dynamic practice to KICK-START a regular yoga practice, build strength & flexibility, tone muscles and improve cardio fitness. Each session will target a specific area of the body: arms, legs, core, tummy, butt, cardio. And on the 7th day we will rest – with a restorative stretching practice. For 4 weeks straight. The recorded session will be available for 24 hours after the actual class so you can complete the class at a time that best suits you. For the price of daily coffee I think this is a winner!

Studies show that it can take between 3 – 8 months to really establish a new habit. However, the first 21-28 days are the hardest. So, ‘Kick Start Yoga’ will be there for the hard part of establishing a new healthy habit.

STARTS: Monday 11th October – every day for 4 weeks.

FAMILY MINDFULLNESS MEDITATION COURSE

Five week introduction course: We are offering a parents and kids introduction course on meditation techniques you can practice and use in your life. Opportunities to stop and notice the way you are feeling, to make space n the here and now. So that you have choice about how you react in life.

This course is designed so children and parents can both participate. Children may attend without parents by arrangement with Marie. Each session will begin with some gentle yoga movement followed by the meditation teaching and experience.

Over 5 weeks Marie will introduce

  1. Body and Breath- interrupting your automatic pilot, noticing what you are feeling and connecting body and breath in a body scan

  2. Sitting meditation- using breath, yoga poses and noticing thoughts while finding

    breathing space

  3. Moving meditation – mindfulness and movement including standing and walking meditation

  4. Sound meditation- different meditation techniques including guide imagery, listening to sound

  5. Mindfulness of emotions- we experience feelings as pleasant, unpleasant and neutral, this week we will look at techniques to ride the waves of emotion and thoughts

  6. Silent meditation- introduction to the concept of “noble silence” and equanimity

SOCIAL EVENING

Come and join with the Mud Hut Yoga Studio community for a social evening. All students, friends, partners and prospective students, are very welcome . Previous evenings have provided a wonderful opportunity for our ‘Mud Hut Yoga’ community to gather together and socialize ‘off the mat’

We will gather from about 6.30pm at my home (just next door to the studio). A light supper will be provided along with non-alcoholic drinks. If you would like a wine or something with your meal feel free to bring it along. Kecci Slater from Essence of India Tours will be visiting from Perth so for those of you who know Kecci it will be a good chance to catch up and for those who have been on previous trips a chance to reminisce.

It’s will be a great opportunity to learn more about my upcoming tour to SRI LANKA in February 2020 . Surprisingly there are still a few places still available!

India 2018 Tour Launch

Come and join the Mud Hut Yoga community for a social evening to celebrate the launch of two tours to India in 2018.

See some pictures, hear some stories and ask questions about our 2017 adventure which was a great success.

And then hear the details of the two tours planned for 2018.

On the first tour we will experience the major highlights of Northern India. Think spectacular monuments & temples, colorful saris, saffron robes, extraordinary Sacred Spirit Festival concerts, a pink city, a blue city...and sacred cows! Always cows...

The second tour will be more of a 'retreat'. We won't move around as much but boy will we have some amazing experiences. This tour will take us to Rishikesh (the birth place of yoga) and Corbett National Park. Think yoga smorgasboard, meandering bazaars, the Beetle's Ashram, wilderness, elephants...and maybe tigers! 

So come along and join the fun...even if you aren't planning to join us in India you are still very welcome to come along. Supper will be provided so for catering purposes please let me know if you are planning to come.

     SACRED EARTH YOGA RETREAT – INDIA 2017!! 

I always enjoy this function and by the feed-back I get so does everyone who attends. This year I am particularly excited because I am ready to share all the information about my India Yoga Retreat next year. So come along and enjoy the good company, good food and hear about the retreat and beautiful India. Even if you’re not interested or available to go on the retreat I think you will enjoy hearing about it. And if you can’t make it Thursday night but you are interested in the SACRED EARTH YOGA RETREAT in INDIA then feel free to give me a call and I can forward more information after Thursday evening. Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training with Nicky Knoff

 

When offering yoga classes to the public, you will inevitably have pregnant students wanting to attend and it is essential to know what you are doing and have the skills to help them access the many health benefits that practising yoga will bring to both the mother and the baby.
This Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training Course will give you the knowledge and experience so you can confidently teach pregnant women, either including them in
beginner classes, experienced classes, or in a separate specialized private Pregnancy Yoga class.

This 5 day intensive course is taught by Master Yoga Teacher, Nicky Knoff. I take great pleasure in welcoming Nicky Knoff  to The Mud Hut Yoga Studio, Rushworth. It is a wonderful opportunity for rural yoga teachers to access quality training locally and for some city folk to spend some time in our beautiful region. I can guarantee there will be no parking or traffic problems! The course is non-residential, however there is limited accommodation available on site and more locally.
