What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy is a healing modality that utilises the ancient practices of yoga to encourage self-healing. Through the application of the teachings and practice of yoga individuals are empowered to progress towards improved health and well-being. All levels of our being are inextricably linked: physical body, mind, energetic body, personality, spirit and emotions. A regular yoga practice develops self-awareness and the ability to move towards greater balance and ease in our lives. Not so long ago Yoga Therapy was unheard of but with an increase in quality research in this area it is now being recognised as a rapidly growing modality. The research demonstrates that Yoga Therapy has measurable benefits. With a regular and individually tailored yoga practice we can move towards our specific goals. These goals will vary considerably from one individual to another. In Yoga Therapy the therapist works with the individual to design a personal yoga practice that can be easily practised at home on a regular basis.

What to expect?

Your first session will involve a thorough assessment of your holistic needs and what has brought you to Yoga Therapy. Then, together we will devise a Yoga Therapy Practice that will address these needs and empower you to establish a regular routine that will lead to active self-healing.

People come to Yoga Therapy for a myriad of reasons: chronic health conditions, acute health conditions, muscular problems, insomnia, anxiety, depression, stress or perhaps just a sense of unease and the desire to promote better overall well-being.

Yoga Therapist

Sue Barlow has been teaching yoga for over 12 years now and qualified as a Yoga Therapist in 2018 following a 2 year intensive training course through the Yoga Therapy Institute. Yoga Therapy requires specialised training and skill development to enable the therapist to support the relationship between the client/student and therapist and effect positive change for the individual.

When?

There will be times made available each week for private Yoga Therapy sessions depending on individual requirements. Please contact Sue on 0438 523 415 to discuss available days & times that will work for your schedule.

Commitment

To achieve the best possible outcome it is highly recommended to commit to several sessions to begin the process. The package recommended below is normally enough to set someone up with a Yoga Therapy Practice for at least 1 year. Of course, the option to attend 1 session at a time is also available if this suits individual needs better.

PACKAGE: 3 sessions $200

1st session: 90 minutes (includes written personalised program)

2nd session: via phone approx 15-30 minutes

3rd session: 60 minutes

INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS

First Session: 90 minutes $120 (includes written personalised program)

Following sessions: 60 minutes $75
